Brayla's body was found in a parked car on a remote trail. Her killer boasted about her murder on social media saying that he was paid $5,000 dollars for the crime.
SHERWOOD, Ark. — According to Sherwood police, at around 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon they found a vehicle on a walking path off of Gap Creek Drive with a body inside.
According to family members, the victim's name is Brayla Stone. Brayla was 17 years old and lived in North Little Rock.
On July 2, a Capital Murder warrant was obtained for Trevone H. Miller of Sherwood for the murder of Brayla Stone.
Miller was apprehended without incident on the warrants and was transported to Pulaski County Regional Jail where he will be held pending arraignment.
The Sherwood Police Department is investigating the incident as a homicide.
In August 2021 Miller was sentenced to 50 years in prison for Brayla's murder.
A man in Arkansas was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the murder of a transgender teenager, in what authorities say was an attempt to hide their relationship.
He pleaded guilty to first-degree murder earlier this month, according to the KARK news station. His sentencing documents stated that the statement reduced his sentence for capital murder, in exchange for the 50-year sentence imposed by the circuit judge. from Pulaski County, Barry Sims will have to turn 35 before he can qualify for parole.
According to the Gazette, Stone's murder was the second time Miller has been implicated in the murder of a teenager in Sherwood.
In April 2016, Miller was the youngest of three teenagers charged with capital murder in the death of 17-year-old Bryan Allen Thompson. Miller was 14 at the time and Thompson was found dead behind the wheel of his car in the Recreation Center parking lot.
