OAXACA, Oax., December 3 (EL UNIVERSAL) .- The murder of two trans women in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca caused a commotion in the LGBTTIQ + community in the state, as well as in the rest of the country, for which its members demanded justice for both victims: Geovanna and Sherlyn. According to a call that was announced on Wednesday, a march will be held this Friday that will depart at 11:00 am from the Fuente de las Ocho Regiones towards the zócalo of the Oaxacan capital, with the purpose of demanding justice for them , also asking the digital community to join these actions on social networks with the hashtags: #JusticiaPorGeovanna and #JusticiaPorSherlyn.
The body of Geovanna Angulo Ramos, a 27-year-old trans woman, was located last Monday, November 30, in a ravine in the jurisdiction of the municipality of Santiago Suchilquitongo, in the district of Elta. The young woman was seen for the last time since last November 25, and three days later the State Attorney General's Office notified her disappearance through a search file. The Marea Verde collective demended "Justice for all our murdered sisters!" on its official Facebook page, and alleged that the young woman was murdered by her ex-partner.
One day after Geovanna's body was found on December 1, Sherlyn was attacked with a firearm inside the beauty salon where she worked. Despite efforts to transfer her for medical attention, she lost her life en route.
