Marcela was shot in the street in the early hours of Saturday 12th December.

Marcela Estella Vieira, 24, was shot and killed in the early hours of Saturday (12), on Rua José Trovão, in the municipality of Colniza (1025 kilometers from Cuiabá). She was a [trans woman] and was found dead with injuries to her chin caused by gunfire.

According to local information, a man who was passing by in his vehicle spotted Marcela's body lying on the floor and called the military police. A team of investigators was called in and appeared at the crime scene to start investigations.

Marcela did not carry any identification documents. Forensics found a cell phone and two portions of cocaine-like substance next to her body. The body was removed from the street, taken for necropsy and then released for funeral procedures.

Military police carried out patrols, but were unable to locate any suspects. The civil police have already started investigating.

In June 2022 four suspects were identified by police, one of whom was arrested and one subsequentl died. Two suspects remain at large.

The homicide that killed a [trans woman] in the municipality of Colniza in December 2020 was clarified by the Civil Police with the identification of four people involved in the crime. One of the identified suspects, responsible for taking the victim to the scene of the crime, had his preventive arrest warrant fulfilled in an action carried out this Saturday (18.06).

Among the suspects are three men and a woman, identified as the mastermind of the crime. Two of the suspects have already served their arrest warrants, one has died and the woman remains at large.
