Gerusa was shot in the face in the early hours of Monday 15th February.
[Trans woman] [deadname] Oliveira Reis, 32, known as Gerusa, was shot dead at the Zilda Arns Housing Complex in Santo Antônio de Jesus. The homicide took place in the early hours of Monday of Carnival, (15).
According to information passed on to our report, there were three shots from a firearm in the face region. The victim did not resist and died at the crime scene. Gerusa's body was removed to the Technical Police Department (DPT).
Three people were arrested shortly after the murder.
A 19-year-old woman was arrested on Monday afternoon (02/15), less than 24 hours after killing [trans woman] [deadname] Oliveira Reis, known as Gerusa Reis, in Santo Antônio de Jesus. The arrest was carried out by investigators from the 1st Territorial Police Station (DT) and the 4th Regional Coordination of Interior Police (Coorpin), from that city.
Two men also involved in the murder have already had preventive arrests requested from the courts. The woman, the author of the shots that killed Gerusa, was fined in the act and will undergo a custody hearing.
The following month a fourth suspect was arrested.
