Coco was found with gunshot wound(s) after police responded to reports of a shooting in a homeless encampment.

On August 7, 2021, at approximately 10:08 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call of a transgender person at the homeless encampment in the 500 block of Park Avenue.

Dallas Fire and Rescue responded and transported the individual to a local [clinic] where the victim succumbed to their injuries. The motive and circumstances surrounding this case are unclear at this time.

The victim did not have any official identification, therefore, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office will attempt to positively identify the victim through fingerprint analysis.

A silver sedan was seen fleeing and went westbound on Marilla Street after the shooting.
