Kitty was shot by an unidentified individual who argued with her while she was drinking with a friend or acquintance.
Kitty, a 38-year-old transgender woman, is the 96th victim of violence in Colón. The victim, whose real name was [deadname] Sosa, was murdered early this Friday in the Vista Alegre community in the township of Cativá, province of Colón.
The incident occurred after 2:00 am, when several shots were heard in one of the houses of this community in the Transisthmian area. Units of the National Police arrived at the scene and found Kitty lying on the ground.
She was transferred to the emergency room of the Sabanitas Polyclinic , where her death was recorded by the duty doctor. In the emergency room, it was determined that the victim had multiple gunshot wounds on her body.
Initial inquiries in the early hours of this Friday revealed that Kitty was drinking with a person, then a third person arrived and an argument began. During the heated argument, the subject drew a weapon and discharged it into Kitty's body, before fleeing to an unknown destination.
In January 2022 Roisy Cáceres Gutiérrez was sentenced to 20 years in prison for aggravated intentional homicide.
A man identified as Roisy Cáceres Gutiérrez was sentenced to 20 years in prison, by sentence agreement, for the murder in the form of aggravated intentional homicide, to the detriment of a person (trans woman) in a bloody incident that occurred on November 12 in Cativá , Colón.
During the sentence validation hearing, the Public Ministry was represented by the Prosecutor Adagnis González, who also managed to get the guarantee judge to impose a 10-year ban on carrying firearms as an additional sentence for the accused once the prison sentence had been served.
