Dani was killed by police during a wellness check.

Dani Cooper’s life was taken violently by North Shore RCMP during a wellness check on November 12th, when Dani needed support.

Dani’s father wrote: "To those who knew and loved Dani. We are heartbroken to announce that they have passed away. We know that everyone who knew Dani saw the love and compassion they had for those around them. Dani, we will miss you so much. We hope you have music and poetry and peace where you are. We love you so much.”

Dani’s facebook page intro read: “just a nice local kid treating others with kindness and respect”.

Dani used they/them pronouns and was misgendered in media reports about their death.
