Lovely was shot multiple times in the chest.
CHICAGO - A [trans woman] was shot six times and killed Wednesday night on Chicago's Near West Side.
Officers found the [woman], who was in [her] 40s, suffering from six gunshot wounds to the torso around 10:22 p.m. in the 2700 block of West Wilcox Street.
[She] was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. [Her] identity has not yet been released by the Cook County medical examiner's office.
There is no one in custody. Area Four detectives are investigating.
On Tuesday 19th December Chicago police arrested Alex Rodriguez, 57, and charged him with one felony count of first-degree murder and one felony count of murder.
Lovely had two Facebook profiles - https://www.facebook.com/lovely.page.1297 and https://www.facebook.com/lewis.page.509/. The former has been wiped clean, and the latter uses her birthname with she/her pronouns. Most news reports refer to Lovely as a gay man. They include varying reports of her age, some saying she was 32 and others "in her 40s".
