Éber's dismembered body was found on Saturday 2nd September 2023. His killer was arrested.
A trans man who had been missing since the previous Thursday, É.AO, was murdered by a “friend”, a subject identified with the initials OACA (32) who dismembered the victims into three parts that were abandoned in different parts of Los Angeles.
Movimiento de Integración y Liberación Homosexual (Movilh) today requested the intervention of the Ministry of the Interior after the murderer confessed to the crime after a camera located in the 2 de Septiembre neighborhood of Los Angeles captured him leaving a bag on a street. It was a backpack with two human legs that a neighbor found on Lynch Street last Saturday, two days after the family reported an alleged misfortune.
“My cousin, Éber, was lost, his closest friends and family had been looking for him since Thursday when he went shopping with the guy who took his life, his friend. They did not have a relationship, nor was he his partner,” the victim's cousin told Movilh.
He added that my cousin “was cruelly murdered by a man who decided on his fate.
In April 2025 Óscar Contreras Alarcón was sentenced to life in prison, but in July the sentence was reduced to 15 years by the Supreme Court.
Despite the fact that the killer dismembered the young trans man's body and scattered his remains on various streets in Los Angeles, the Supreme Court ruled that there was no violation of the corpse or malice aforethought. Movimiento de Integración y Liberación Homosexual (Movilh) called the ruling "disastrous and unjust."
The Second Chamber of the Supreme Court reduced the first instance sentence of life imprisonment against the murderer of young transgender man Ever Albarrán in 2023, which sentenced the murderer, Óscar Andrés Contreras Alarcón, to just 15 years of medium-level prison, an act that was described by the Movement for Homosexual Integration and Liberation (Movilh) as “unjust, incomprehensible, and insensitive.”
Although on April 21, Los Angeles Criminal Court Judge Ingrid Quezada stated that Contreras Alarcón dismembered the victim's deceased body, "decapitating him and severing his lower limbs, which constituted the crime of desecration of a corpse since it violates the memory of the deceased by significantly damaging his body," the Supreme Court acquitted the murderer of desecrating the body and of the charge of acting with malice aforethought.
Movilh spokesperson Javiera Zúñiga stated that "an individual murdered a trans person while both were supposedly intoxicated, dismembered him, and scattered his body parts along different streets. However, for our highest court, this does not constitute outrage against a corpse or treachery. This ruling is as incomprehensible as it is insensitive and unjust, and it is one of the most disastrous for the rights of trans people. Our solidarity with Ever's family and our gratitude to the Public Prosecutor's Office for defending until the very end that outrage against a corpse and treachery existed here."
