La Gocha was killed in her home. She was a stylist, and the motive for the attack is unknown.
A 45-year-old transsexual woman was violently murdered with at least 40 stab wounds in her own home in the El Valle parish of Caracas.
Known by her friends as "La Gocha", little is known about her identity, except that her last name is Guerrero Duarte and that she made a living working as a stylist in a beauty salon in the El Valle shopping center, also located in the capital city.
Neighbors say that on Tuesday night they heard screams coming from their house, but no one came to verify who it was, reported journalist Joan Camargo.
Her co-workers at the hair salon noticed her absence on Wednesday. When they were unable to communicate by telephone with "La Gocha" they went to her home. When they entered, the first thing that was visible was Guerrero's body on the ground with stab wounds between the chest and abdomen that took her life the night before.
In the investigation by the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) it was detailed that the locks of Guerrero's home were not forced, so the hypothesis is that the murderers entered with the woman's consent. However, "La Gocha"'s cell phone was stolen by her attackers.
At the moment, the forensic police have not offered details about the motive of the case.
In January 2024 three people were arrested.
This Tuesday, January 23, the director of the Cicpc, Douglas Rico, reported that two men and a 16-year-old adolescent are detained for this crime .
One of those involved is nicknamed “Borojo”, who was also a close friend of Gocha. He organized the assault on his house along with another 22-year-old man and the minor.
