Roxanna's body was found tied to a tree.

This Thursday, December 14, a trans woman was murdered, hung and tied by her hands and feet to a tree in the Eastern Hills of Bogotá. This fact has resulted in shock and condemnation among the Lgbtq + community. The victim was a social leader in Santander, where she defended the people in the region.

The victim is Roxana Delgado, 32 years old, from the municipality of Barrancabermeja, Santander, which she had apparently left due to threats and intimidation; She arrived in the Colombian capital a few years ago, looking for new opportunities.

Iván Prada Serrano from the Lgbtiq community, spoke about the murdered woman: “She was well known in the region, she was an activist for the community, especially for trans women, so that their rights were recognized.”

“The living conditions of these women have a stigma and they left the region precisely because they suffered from violence, and apparently because of threats, and that is why they moved to the capital of the country looking for a better quality of care. life”, added the spokesperson.

As indicated by the authorities to the Lgbtiq community, this murder could have occurred due to their gender identity and violence due to prejudice. A fact that those close to Roxana hope will see justice done.

According to the authorities, Roxana Delgado died from mechanical asphyxiation, a crime that is being investigated and the Forensic Medicine report is pending.
