Sunita died after being shot in her home. Three people were arrested at the scene.
Kanpur: A 45-year-old transgender Sunita alias Shiv Shankar died at her residence in Nagla Chooda Muras Kanhiya, Kotwali Mohammadabad, under mysterious circumstances.
She was rushed to CHC Mohammadabad where she was pronounced dead.
The police discovered a ‘.315 bore pistol, a bullet casing, and two cartridges’ at the crime scene. Inspector Mahendra Singh sent the body for autopsy.
Three people have been held. CO Mohammadabad Arun Kumar said that Soni, the daughter of Suresh Tiwari from Matauli Garhiya in Kotwali Gursahaiganj, had been residing with Sunita for past six months.
Soni told police Sunita was consuming alcohol with some people when she was shot during an altercation.
