The victim was shot by an assailant riding a motorcycle. Their identity was not reported.
Police arrested a 28-year-old man on Saturday night (7) accused of shooting a trans man to death in Canoas. The crime took place on Rua Itamar de Matos Maia in the Niterói neighborhood.
According to investigations, the 38-year-old victim was at home when he went out to receive a package delivered by a ride-hailing vehicle. At that moment, the suspect arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire.
The victim did not survive his injuries and died at the scene.
The Homicide and Personal Protection Department (DHPP) in Canoas confirmed that the suspect had no criminal record. In addition, the police reported that the victim also had no criminal record.
The incident also had the support of teams from the Military Brigade, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) and the General Institute of Expertise.
