Neuritânia's body was found on a football field after she had left her home to go on a date. She was a civil servant who worked at Sobradinho City Hall.
A 48-year-old trans woman was found dead in the city of Sobradinho, in northern Bahia. According to information given to g1 on Monday (16), the victim's body had signs of violence and there is a suspicion that she was stoned.
The crime took place on Saturday (14), near a soccer field in Vila São Francisco. According to family members, Neuritânia Pacheco had left home for a date. However, it is not yet known whether this was related to the crime.
The body of the victim, who was a civil servant at the Sobradinho City Hall, was sent to the Technical Police Department (DPT) in the region. The wake and burial took place on Sunday (15), at the city cemetery, according to information provided by TV São Francisco, an affiliate of Rede Bahia in the region.
The perpetrator and motive for the murder are being investigated by the Sobradinho Territorial Police Station, where the case was registered. The police are awaiting the expert report from the DPT. As of Monday, no one had been arrested.
On social media, the mayor of Sobradinho, Cleyvinho Sampaio (PSD), shared a note of condolence for Neuritânia's death, expressing solidarity with the employee's family and friends. She worked as a general services assistant at the Municipal Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports.
