Suicide

Giorgio died in hospital just under a week after an attempted suicide on 31st December. In death, the media misgendered and deadnamed him.
On February 2nd we will be in Caserta in a torchlight procession, to remember Giorgio in the way everyone refuses to do: with his name! Join us in Piazza Vanvitelli, Caserta (on the police station side) at 5:00 pm. Bring a candle and, if possible, a trans* flag.
Our trans brother Giorgio, 14, died after throwing himself from a balcony in Caserta.
His identity was violated both in life and in death.
We learn this from sister voices and from the newspapers. Those same newspapers that misgender him and endlessly repeat his deadname Together with the institutions and schools, which still remain IMPASSIVE and which still lack any support tool and education on respect for trans* people!
WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF SEEING OURSELVES DIE, OF SEEING OURSELVES OPPRESSED EVEN AFTER DEATH
We have had enough of the rhetoric that tells of transgenderity as something that leads to suicide. You monstrosify us, you make us invisible and you justify the transphobia we suffer every day: anything to avoid recognizing us. Anything to avoid recognizing Giorgio for who he was!
WE ARE JOINED IN PAIN AND ANGRY MOURNING.
We will make noise for our trans brother.
MOURNING, ANGER, TRANS* R-ESISTENCE!
Prior to his death the head of his school had filed a complaint with social services about his mother, who had not accepted her son's gender.
The suicide attempt that ended Giorgiio's life was reportedly not his first.
