Daniella's body was found on a bridge. She was gagged and had been shot multiple times.
On Tuesday morning, residents of the Matitas district, in the rural area of the Riohacha District (La Guajira), were surprised by a macabre discovery that has caused commotion in the community.
The lifeless body of a person identified as [deadname] (Daniela) Muttis, belonging to the LGTBIQ+ community, was found with multiple bullet wounds and gagged.
The victim, a resident of the district of Mingueo, jurisdiction of the municipality of Dibulla, was found on the bridge that leads to Matitas, lying face down and with visible bullet wounds, mainly on the face. According to the testimonies of the locals, the body was discovered by inhabitants who were passing through the area in the early hours, who immediately notified the authorities, according to the local press.
The National Police went to the scene and cordoned off the area to preserve the scene while awaiting the arrival of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI). The CTI experts carried out the removal of the body and its subsequent transfer to the morgue of Forensic Medicine in Riohacha, where the corresponding analyzes are expected to be carried out.
The victim's identity was confirmed hours later by family members and acquaintances through social media, after her disappearance was reported on Monday afternoon. This tragic event has generated outrage and sadness. The LGBT community is calling for justice and a prompt investigation to clarify the motives behind this crime.
