Sofia's body was found with gunshot wounds on a road in a rural area. According to police she had tried to flee from her attacker.

A [trans woman], known as Sofia, was shot dead on a rural road in the Charneca neighborhood, in Betim, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, on the night of this Friday (14).

According to the Military Police, the victim was shot at least four times in the legs, torso, neck and head.

Police believe the victim tried to flee from the attacker, but was shot in the legs and then executed. The body was on a dirt road.

The technical experts collected four 9mm ammunition capsules. The body was sent to the Betim Forensic Medical Post.
