Kidnapped and murdered
Jennifer's body was one of many found bagged up in a mass grave. She had been missing since being kidnapped by armed men in October 2023.
The clandestine grave of Las Agujas, in Zapopan, Jalisco, is the scene of heartbreaking stories, such as that of Jennifer, a trans woman who was illegally deprived of her liberty in October 2023.
With tears in her eyes, a broken voice and Jennifer's face on her chest, Mrs. Silvia recounts the agony and desperation she experienced since she received the news that her daughter had been forcibly taken away by armed men, while she was walking through the streets of the Agrícola neighborhood.
And from the day I was leaving my ranch, when I received that call, they finally killed me as a mother. I ended up all the way to Teuchitlán; I was based here, at the bodies they found nearby, like in Miramar, in Agua Blanca, and that's because my son disappeared from here. I never, ever thought my [daugter] would be in Las Agujas, somewhere near La Venta del Astillero.

The body of the [woman] who officially bore the name [deadname] was found on February 26 of this year; however, Silvia was notified almost three months later.
The tattoos, as well as the piercings, served as identification. According to the death certificate, the cause of hr death was chest trauma.
When I went to identify [her], my [daughter] was still there. She was still [deadname], Jenny was, whatever you want to call it...[she] was still visible, [her] face still, [her] little face… everything, everything still. And my [daughter] had a face of great anguish, of great sadness. I could still swear to you that they had my [daughter] alive for another year.

On June 14, Jennifer received a proper burial in Ameca, Jalisco. However, this isn't the first time Silvia has said her final goodbye to a daughter. Before Jennifer, her other daughter, Tania, and her husband disappeared and were also found dead.
