José Diego da Rocha Silva, 28, was arrested shortly after the murder.
A 22-year-old trans man was stabbed to death on Wednesday morning (16) after an argument with a neighbor in Mossoró, in the West Region of Rio Grande do Norte.
The crime took place around 9 a.m. on Rua Teodoro Ferreira de Sena, in the Quixabeirinha neighborhood. The victim was identified as [deadname] Jady de Souza Oliveira , but did not have a registered social name.
After the crime, the suspect called the Integrated Public Security Operations Center (Ciosp), informed them where he was and surrendered without offering any resistance.
According to the Military Police, witnesses reported that [J.] was accompanied by a cousin and his partner when the disagreement with the neighbor began.
The police reported that they were at the scene approximately 30 minutes before the homicide due to a report of domestic violence involving the victim's cousin. At the time, officers found no visible signs of aggression, and the couple denied any violence.
The couple and the neighbor, who allegedly filed the anonymous complaint, had a disagreement over the incident. During the argument, the man allegedly stabbed Jordana.
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called, but the victim did not survive his injuries and died at the scene.
