Alexandra's body was found in her home with a gunshot wound to the chest.

A 51-year-old trans woman was shot in the chest in her home in Pinamar Norte.

According to information released by the Canelones Police, a 57-year-old man called 911 in the last few hours to report that he had been trying to contact a friend several times but that she hadn't responded.

“Personnel from Salinas Precinct 22 went to a home located on 60th Street in the Pinamar Norte area, where they interviewed a 57-year-old man. He stated that he tried to contact his 51-year-old friend (a trans person), and when he didn't get a response, he called 911,” the police report states.

Once they entered the house, the woman was found "lifeless." "It was determined that she had a gunshot wound to the right side of her chest," the police added.

The case has now been transferred to the Prosecutor's Office and the Homicide Department.
