LAMBDA Association and the Observatory of Human Rights and Violence Based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity regret the death of Ivana Pérez.
Ivana was not only a brave person who lived her identity with dignity, but also an essential part of a community that continues to fight for justice, respect, and equality.
Her death is not an isolated event; it is a reflection of the structural violence and transphobia that persists in our society
With profound sadness and total indignation, we regret the vile murder of Ivana Pérez, a trans woman whose life was taken in an act of violence inside a business in the village of Azacualpilla, Palencia.
From this space, we express our most sincere condolences to her family, friends, and the entire trans community, who today mourn an irreparable loss. We stand in solidarity with their pain, but also in their demand for justice. We categorically repudiate and condemn this transfemicide.
We demand that the competent authorities carry out a prompt, exhaustive investigation with a focus on human rights and diversity, which guarantees justice for Ivana and does not allow this crime to go unpunished
