Tania's body was found in a vacant lot several hours after she had been attacked and killed.

CHIHUAHUA.- A transgender woman was the victim of a brutal attack early Saturday morning on a vacant lot in the Chaveña neighborhood.

But it wasn't until Saturday afternoon that she was located by passersby. Authorities received a report of the woman's presence, who had multiple stab wounds and blows to the head from a large rock.

Municipal Rescue paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the General Hospital, where her death was sadly reported hours later.

Members of the Forensic Medical Service responded to the hospital to transport the body to their facilities where forensic tests could be performed and any clues found that might lead to those responsible.

A vigil and demonstration by community members was held in front of the Prosecutor's Office a day after Taniia's murder.
