Chayene was homeless and was sheltering in a vacant lot near a bus station when she was killed. It is not known who killed her or why.
A trans woman was found dead on Monday morning (23) in a vacant lot near the Foz do Iguaçu International Bus Station, in western Paraná.
The location is known for sheltering homeless and socially vulnerable people. According to the Military Police (PM), the body was found after reports from local residents.
The victim was identified as Chayene Pereira Lima, 36 years old. During the initial investigation, a perforation in the head was found, but it is not yet known whether it was caused by a firearm or a blunt object.
The body was collected and sent to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML), where it will undergo autopsy examinations, which should clarify the cause of death.
According to reports from residents, it is common for the land to be used by wanderers and people living in precarious conditions, who build improvised shacks there.
One of the witnesses said he had seen Chayene the day before, while she was setting up a makeshift structure to protect herself from the cold. The case is still being investigated by the Foz do Iguaçu Homicide Department.
