Duda was shot dead by five armed men posing as police officers who broke into her home.
A trans woman, known as Duda, was shot dead early Tuesday morning (22) in the municipality of Bayeux, in the Metropolitan Region of João Pessoa. The crime occurred inside the victim's residence.
According to responding officers, five suspects arrived at the scene and identified themselves as police officers. They broke the locks on a gate installed on the house's front door and entered the property. Duda was executed with several gunshots while still inside the residence.
At the time of this report's publication, police had not confirmed whether the victim had a criminal record or provided information about the motive for the murder. Forensic experts were called to examine the crime scene, and the case is under investigation. According to the expert, at least 30 gunshot wounds were found on the victim's body. Some of these marks were on her arm, indicating she had attempted self-defense.
This is the second case of murder of a trans woman in less than 48 hours. On Sunday (20), a trans woman was executed with at least 14 shots inside her home, in front of her nephews and other family members. The crime took place in the Cristo neighborhood of João Pessoa and happened while she was watching television. The residence was invaded by two armed men who chased her and fired shots.
