Jessica passed away around 15th September. Her birth family misgendered and deadnamed her throughout her funeral.
My friend Jessica Olive Cash died in Coventry UK around 15th September 2025. Family have concealed how she died. She'd made several attempts on her life over the years and suffered huge abuse from family and strangers for being trans. Family misgendered and deadnamed her throughout her funeral.
Much loved and deeply missed.
Jessica was 33, had trained as a teacher with a special interest in empowering students with Down Syndrome. She was a rigorous investigator into true crime, championing marginalised folk treated unfairly by the criminal justice system and co-hosting the Version of Events podcast. She worked tirelessly in socialist causes until they tired her out, and embraced Christianity in her later years. She was an alcoholic successfully in recovery for several years, committed to ‘sober til it’s over’ - reflected in her drag persona Wendietta Time. She was hilarious, kind, outspoken and unapologetic in being herself.

Jessica was co-host of the True Crime podcast site Version of Events: True Crime Deep Dives.
In April 2024 Jessica was brutally attacked by two teenagers while she was on a bus in Coventry.
