Valeria died in hospital after being shot outside her home by two armed assailants riding a motorcycle.
CULIACÁN. A trans woman was murdered on the morning of Tuesday, September 16, after being shot near her home in the Nuevo Bachigualato neighborhood. The victim died while receiving medical attention at a city hospital.
According to preliminary reports, the attack occurred shortly after 9:00 a.m., when two armed men on a motorcycle arrived at the victim's home and shot her at point-blank range.
The woman, known as Valeria, suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and hand. She was taken by herself to a nearby hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Officers from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) went to the hospital to confirm the death and gather information. Meanwhile, Municipal Police and SSPC personnel are cordoning off the home where the attack occurred, while forensic experts from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) conduct the necessary investigations.
