Christina was killed in the street by her ex-partner.
The Military Police (PM) identified the killer of Christina Maciel Oliveira, 45 years old, trans woman kicked to death in the middle of the street in broad daylight by her ex-partner, on the afternoon of this Monday (20), on Rua Padre Pedro Pinto, in Venda Nova, in Greater BH.
The author of the crime is Matheus Henrique Santos Rodrigues, 36, wbo has several police records for robbery, theft, drug trafficking and consumption, damage, bodily harm and threats. Itatiaia has exclusively learned that Matheus Henrique recently left a drug rehabilitation clinic.
According to what we have learned, Christina wanted to end the relationship she had with Matheus for three years and the man did not accept the breakup, brutally attacking the victim.
The case will be registered as a femicide. The investigation will be handled by the Specialized Femicide Investigation Unit (NEIF) of the Civil Police's State Homicide Investigation and Personal Protection Department (DHPP).
Despite having been rejected by her birth family as a teenager, Christina had become a well known health educator and activist who worked to improve health and care within the community.
During her adolescence, her family evicted her from her home , forcing her to survive in extremely vulnerable situations. Over time, she transformed that experience into a mission to support other homeless trans people.
Friends and colleagues remember her for her generosity, strength, and social commitment . According to testimonies collected by the G1 portal, Christina was also passionate about cooking, which she used as a means to create spaces for meeting and support among those close to her.>
Her friend, Gabrielly Elisa, 21, stated that the victim was a crucial figure in her life:
“If I have a roof over my head and a decent life today, it's thanks to her. She was brutally murdered, a very cowardly act. I don't want her death to become just another statistic.”
