Juana was shot outside her home by armed assilants who fled in a vehicle.
León, Guanajuato. A trans woman, identified by neighbors as Juana Cecilia , was shot and killed Friday morning in the Ampliación San Francisco neighborhood.
The attack occurred around 9:45 a.m. at the corner of calles Frailes Menores and Fray Sabatino, where the victim was attacked by the occupants of a sedan, who fled after firing several shots.
A person was found at the scene. She was of slender build, approximately 1.63 meters tall, and was wearing a gray t-shirt with green sleeves, jeans, and white sneakers.
Neighbors identified her as Juana Cecilia, the name by which she was known in the area.
Municipal authorities secured the area and confirmed the discovery of spent shell casings, while the Guanajuato State Attorney General's Office opened an investigation with a gender perspective to clarify the crime.
No arrests have been reported so far.
