Ladeira was found unresponsive in the street just after she had been discharged from hospital. Her case has been registered as a suspicious death.
A 43-year-old transgender woman was found dead on Saturday night (1), on Avenida Pedro Romero, in Mogi das Cruzes, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo.
The victim was identified by the Civil Police as Ladeira Rolim. According to the investigation, she had been to a consultation at the Rodeio Emergency Care Unit (UPA) and after being discharged, she felt unwell again. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was called and confirmed her death at the scene.
According to the São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP), military police officers were called to the scene and found the victim lying on the ground.
According to the team, she was found in the post-ictal phase (the period after a seizure, characterized by confusion, drowsiness, headache, and fatigue), and arrived at the unit with a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 14 (considered mild), stable vital signs, no infectious focus, and afebrile.
According to the medical coordinator of the Rodeio Emergency Care Unit (UPA), Débora Nogueira Missiato, the patient had a prior history of epilepsy, with no information about regular treatment, and all clinical protocols were followed during the consultation.
The SSP also reported that examinations were requested from the IML and the case was registered as a suspicious death at the Mogi das Cruzes Sectional Police Station. Her burial took place this past Monday (3), at the Saudade Cemetery
