The Civil Police of Amazonas (PC-AM) arrested a 35-year-old man suspected of killing his partner, a 27-year-old transgender woman. The crime occurred in the rural area of Pauini, in the interior of Amazonas. According to the police, the crime was motivated by jealousy.
According to Detective Renan Boina de Barbe, from the 63rd Interactive Police Station (DIP) in Pauini, the team began the search after receiving a report about the victim's death. "During the on-site investigation, it was determined that the perpetrator fired shots at his partner. She was taken to the hospital, but did not survive her injuries," said the police chief.
The suspect was identified and taken to the police station on Friday (28). During questioning, he confessed that, during an argument fueled by jealousy, he grabbed a gun and shot the victim in the abdomen.
The man was arrested in the Ouro Verde neighborhood, in the city center. He will be charged with femicide and will remain at the disposal of the Justice system.
