Run over
Bianca died after being run over on her way to an airport. Her death may have been a hit and run.
Bianca Ferreira da Rocha Pimenta, 30 years old, had been missing since November 29th. According to local authorities, in the early morning of December 2nd, she was crossing the Bucharest-Ploiesti road when she was hit by a utility vehicle.
Bianca's death was confirmed less than an hour after the accident, according to reports. g1 sent a request for comment to the Romanian police to find out if the driver involved in the accident was detained and if the case is being investigated, but had not received a response by the time of this report's last update.
Bianca had been living in the Portuguese capital for about 5 years and decided to leave the country after telling her family that she was being "stalked" but without giving details. She then reportedly contacted a friend and bought a ticket to Bucharest, Romania.
The victim's aunt said that Bianca stayed in a hotel In Romania for two days, reported that she wasn't feeling well, and decided to return to Portugal. She even made a video call with her aunt shortly before taking a ride-sharing car to the local airport. After that, the woman did not contact her family again.
"Her battery was low, and I told her to charge her phone. She was waiting for this app to go to the airport, then she turned off her phone and we haven't been able to contact her since. We tried texting and calling, but the messages aren't even going through," said Ana Paula, the young woman's aunt.
