Shayne Cook

Shayne was nonbinary. Their former parter and her new boyfriend have been charged with one count of domestic violence-related murder.

Shayne Cook had only celebrated their birthday a few weeks before they were killed.

They were gender non-binary and used the name Shayne. Shayne was allegedly stabbed to death by their former partner and their former partner’s boyfriend in Goulburn, NSW, on December 30, 2025. Shayne's body was found on January 3, 2026. Anne-Marie Streek and Stephen Henry Evans are charged with Shayne's murder.

A person close to Shayne said they were fun-loving, had a great sense of humour and lived for their dogs.

A friend of Cook’s, who asked to remain anonymous, told 7NEWS.com.au the small town was heartbroken.

The friend described Cook as a kind and generous person who loved American singer P!nk.

Another friend of Cook’s also remembered her as someone who would always help others.
