I don't know if this sub is the right place to post this. They were both trans men from Iran, both were shot by the regime in January 8th and 9th. I just think we should know the names and remember trans people exist everywhere and they must be protected, just like anyone else.
Nima Abasi, appearantly, was just supposed to have his commission for changing his gender marker the next Wednesday. I don't know much more about them. I just thought we should know the names at the very least.
In January 2023 - two years before he was killed by them - Saman had been abducted by the Iranian regime. At the time he was living in Javanrud.
The Iranian government forces in Javanrud abducted a 20-year-old citizen named Saman Abdi from his family home.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on January 16, 2023, government forces abducted Saman Abdi, a resident of Javanrud, and took him to an unknown place.
According to an informed source, this citizen was abducted by these forces as soon as he arrived home after returning from Tehran.
So far, no detailed information has been made available about the location, state of health, or reasons for the kidnapping of Saman Abdi by government agencies.
