Deyran Palacios
Age 155 Feb 2026
Ibarra (Ecuador)
Tortured, raped and stabbed

Deyran died during a horrific attack by three men who raped, tortured and finally killed her.
Ibarra, February 9, 2026 – Asociación Silueta X, Asociación Mi Familia, Bolivarianos Diversos, Coalición Quiteña Resistencia Rosa, Plataforma Nacional Trans and Federación Ecuatoriana de Organizaciones LGBT+ raise their voices in protest and condemnation of the heinous murder of Deyran, a 15-year-old transgender teenager, whose body was found with signs of extreme torture in the Alpachaca sector of Ibarra.
From a technical and legal perspective, we denounce a tactical omission on the part of justice and security officials. As in the case of Luciana, we observe with suspicion how the authorities seem to be delaying the search and capture process so that the period of flagrante delicto expires, allowing the perpetrators to evade immediate arrest. Deyran was reported missing on Monday, February 2. Her body was found on Thursday, February 5, in the Anillo Vial area. During this interval, the institutional response was, once again, slow and lacking a gender and diversity focus, allowing the violence to escalate to a fatal outcome.
CRUELTY AND HATE: BEYOND HOMICIDE.- The testimonies collected in the area describe a scenario of necropolitics and transphobic hatred . Deyran was not only murdered; she was subjected to acts of barbarity that include:
Group rape by three individuals (identifying a subject named Pablo as the main instigator).
Torture with cutting tools (saw) on limbs and face.
Apparent use of chemical substances (acid) to disfigure her identity.
Stab wounds directly to the heart after the victim threatened to report her attackers.
TECHNICAL DEMANDS OF THE ECUADORIAN STATE.- As a coalition of trans and LGBTQ+ organizations, we will not allow this case to be dismissed as a “common crime.” We demand:
Gender Identity: We urge the State Attorney General's Office and the media to respect the victim's gender identity. The use of male pronouns in police reports obscures the hateful element that motivated the crime.
Immediate Capture: We demand that the National Police execute the arrest warrants for "Pablo" and his accomplices, who are fully identified by the community.
Monitoring of Flagrant Offenses: We denounce the use of the procedural calendar as a tool of impunity and hold the State responsible for the safety of witnesses who have provided key information.
"The blood of our transgender teenagers cannot be the price of a blind and complicit justice system."
