CHILPANCINGO, Gro., February 10, 2026 - The National Observatory of Hate Crimes (ONCO) against LGBTI+ people in Mexico asked the state government to clarify the death of a trans woman named Ares Navarrete, whose lifeless body was found last Sunday, February 8, in the state capital.
In a text published on the social networks of the organization that is coordinated by the Arcoíris Foundation, the intervention of the authorities was requested so that they “provide the corresponding official information”.
Ares Navarrete was a well-known florist, originally from the town of Buenavista de la Salud, which is located on the Mexico-Acapulco federal highway.
It was reported on social media that her body was found on the highway between the towns of Dos Caminos and Mohonera.
