Manu was a student and a former member of a quadrilha dance group. Her body was found four days after she was kidnapped.

The body of a young trans woman who had been missing was found on Wednesday (11), in the municipality of Coqueiro Seco, in the metropolitan region of Maceió. During searches carried out by family and friends, the young woman's father found her head.

According to information gathered by TV Asa Branca Alagoas, the victim was identified as [deadname] da Silva, was 19 years old and used the social name "Manu". She had been missing since last Saturday (7), had no prior criminal record, and according to police her murder may be related to drug trafficking.

Hours after finding the head, Manu's body was located by firefighters in a ravine approximately 200 meters deep, on the Fazenda das Flores farm, located in the municipality.

The Civil Police reported that during the forensic examination of the body, at least six gunshot wounds were identified, five to the head and one to the chest. No ammunition casings or the firearm were found at the crime scene. The forensic team seized a knife near the victim's head, which may have been used in the decapitation. The object will undergo technical analysis.

Manu was a student and former member of the quadrilha group Brilho Lunar. A social media, post in her honor lamented her death and emphasised the joy she experienced.

"Her presence illuminated our rehearsals, our performances, and above all, our lives. Manu wasn't just a part of Brilho Lunar – she was brilliance, she was affection, she was shared joy in every step, in every smile, in every moment lived by our side," read part of the post.
