Dayana was found dead in her home in suspicious circumstances.
Tegucigalpa – A young transgender person was found dead under strange circumstances in Nacaome, in southern Honduras, it was reported this Saturday.
The victim's name was [deadname] Pavón, who was found hanging from a beam in his home in the Sor Dionisia neighborhood.
The deceased, better known as 'Dayana', reportedly suffered injuries before being hanged from a beam, but this is under investigation by security authorities.
It is estimated that between 2004 and 2025 (21 years), around 600 people lost their lives violently, including some 335 gay men, 156 trans women, and also lesbian women, bisexual men and trans men died in violent circumstances.
At least six homicides are recorded daily in Honduras, according to official counts from the Violence Observatory of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH). JS
