Marcus's body was found on a dirt road. He had been shot.
Tegucigalpa – A member of the LGBT community was shot and killed in the Guanacaste residential area in Juticalpa, Olancho department, eastern Honduras. She is the second member of the LGBT community to be murdered in 24 hours in Honduras.
The victim was identified as Marcos Noé Mejía (22), who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. His body was found lying on a dirt road in the aforementioned area. The deceased was wearing a wig, jeans, and a blue shirt.
Less than 24 hours ago, it was reported that another young trans person was found dead under strange circumstances in Nacaome, in southern Honduras. The victim's name was [Dayana] Pavón.
It is estimated that between 2004 and 2025 (21 years), around 600 people lost their lives violently, including approximately 335 gay men, 156 transgender women, and also lesbian women, bisexual men, and transgender men who died in violent circumstances.
