Kelly was shot by a disgruntled customer in the nightclub she managed. She died in hospital the following day.
Erik Lacerda Chagas, 32, the man responsible for shooting and killing a nightclub manager in Nova Andradina, turned himself in to police on Sunday afternoon (17). The crime occurred in the early hours of Friday (15).
According to delegate Caio Bicalho, the perpetrator went to the establishment, accompanied by two friends, around 10 pm on Thursday (14). Four hours later, in the early hours of Friday morning, the man decided to leave.
“At the time the decision was made, there was a disagreement between the perpetrator and the victim, who is the manager of the establishment, regarding the amounts owed. Witnesses interviewed by the police stated that the perpetrator had paid the bill indicated by the victim and left the premises without any animosity between them. However, a few minutes after leaving, the perpetrator allegedly returned alone, already carrying a firearm, and fired several shots at the victim,” the police chief pointed out.
The victim managed to run and hide at the back of the nightclub, where she was rescued by teams from the Fire Department. However, due to the severity of her injuries, she died on Saturday afternoon (16).
The case will remain under investigation and the perpetrator remains at the disposal of the Judiciary.
