Bianca was found dead in the home where she lived with her dogs. The cause of her death was not reported.
Bianca dos Santos, known by her social name Bianca, died inside her home in the Santa Libânia neighborhood of Bragança Paulista. The transgender woman, who worked as a housekeeper and lived alone with seven dogs, left friends, neighbors, and loved ones deeply touched by her way of life, marked by good humor, a willingness to help, and the affection she devoted to animals.
A neighbor and the employer found Bianca lifeless on Wednesday (3), at the residence located on Rua Santa Cruz. As the cleaning lady did not show up for work, the disappearance caught the attention of people close to her. The neighbor, who had a copy of the key, entered the property together with the employer and found Bianca on the bed.
Bianca had lived in the Santa Libânia neighborhood for about 30 years and had made many friends during that time. Journalist and radio broadcaster Luci Miranda, a friend of the cleaning lady, stated that Bianca faced prejudice throughout her life, but built relationships based on affection and respect.
“Bianca was a symbol of resilience. As a trans woman, she faced prejudice her whole life, but earned respect and many friends. She will be remembered for her wide smile, her good humor, and her willingness to help. She joked about her own life challenges and had a great love for animals and plants. Despite her simple home, she maintained a beautiful and very well-kept garden,” she reported.
The Animal Welfare Division (DIBEM) has taken over the care of the seven dogs that lived with Bianca. However, the technical team decided to keep them temporarily in their own home. According to the agency, the dogs are healthy and show no signs of mistreatment. However, they still show fear and avoid approaching other people.
Luci Miranda monitored the teams' work and explained that the animals seem to miss their owner.
“They are resistant to approaching anyone other than Bianca. She was the one who cared for and fed them all. The dogs are strong and well cared for, but they lost the person they trusted. Now it will be necessary to gradually earn that trust,” she stated.
A comment on an Instagram post said this of Bianca:
Bianca was a lonely person, far from her family and with few friends. She worked two days a week in the building where I live, and had an unparalleled character, the kind that brought happiness wherever she went.
Bianca always did everything for the dogs, who were always with her, and showed great affection for everything and everyone.
But she was the kind of person who would go days without touching her cell phone; it seemed like she would enter her house and find everything she needed there. It was difficult to contact her…
