Nicoll's body was found with a gunshot wound to the neck on the same day as Villavicencio's Pride festival.

On June 28, while the activities commemorating Pride Day for sexual and gender diversity were concluding in the streets, a trans woman known as [Nicoll] Torres was murdered in Villavicencio, Meta.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the discovery of her body around 5:50 p.m. in the Villa Suárez neighborhood. According to authorities, the victim had a gunshot wound to the neck and the case is under investigation.

The Mayor's Office of Villavicencio, through its Office of Gender and Diversity (OSIGD), condemned the murder and expressed its "deepest rejection and sorrow at the persistent acts of violence that violate the life and dignity" of the LGBTIQ+ population. In the statement, the administration lamented Nicole's murder, noting that the incident "raises alarms about the urgent need to protect those facing the greatest vulnerability" and highlighting that the victim was homeless, which demonstrates "the severity of the intersectional violence suffered by trans women in contexts of extreme exclusion."

The Villavicencio Critical Pride collective, through a manifesto, linked [Nicoll]'s murder to the structural violence faced by trans people in Colombia. In the document, the organization maintains that the case "is not isolated" and demanded a swift investigation and guaranteed justice. Furthermore, it denounces the persistence of institutional barriers, social exclusion, and the invisibility of violence against people with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.
