Tijuana – The body of a person showing signs of violence was found in the Mexicali Valley. The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) is investigating whether the deceased was a transgender woman.
The body had evident blows to the head, bruises around the eyes, was wearing clothing traditionally used by women, and was found partially buried. The discovery was reported to the emergency line yesterday afternoon, Thursday, June 16, on a rural road in the agricultural area of Ejido Jiquilpan, between Rancho Pericos and state highway number 3, also known as Los Pioneros.
Agents from the Mexicali Municipal Police arrived at the scene and confirmed the presence of the body, which showed no vital signs and had visible signs of violence. After processing the scene, the Prosecutor's Office preliminarily reported that it was a [trans woman], around 50 years old, who had several head injuries and bruises on her eyelids.
Because she was wearing women's clothing, he said he would investigate the incident while respecting the possible gender identity of the victim, although he clarified that this will be confirmed when the corresponding information is gathered, in addition to clarifying the circumstances of the crime.
The body was taken to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) facilities, where an autopsy was performed. It was later revealed that the cause of death was a traumatic brain injury.
