Alexa's body was found with stab wounds on a dirt road. The identity of her killer is not known.
Iguala de la Independencia, Gro., July 30, 2026.- A trans woman was murdered with a knife on a dirt road leading to the area known as La Joya, near the Lomas del Zapatero neighborhood, in the municipality of Iguala de la Independencia.
Around 5:00 p.m., authorities were alerted via a call to the 911 emergency number about an injured person in the area, so the presence of police forces and an ambulance was requested.
At the scene, family members identified the victim as 18-year-old [Alexa] Bernabé Valadez. According to the account given by her family to the authorities, Axel had arranged to meet someone at that location, who allegedly attacked her with a knife. After the attack, she managed to contact her family by phone to briefly inform them of what had happened and ask them to come to her aid.
Upon arriving at the scene, paramedics examined the young woman; however, she no longer had vital signs. At first glance, she had several wounds caused by a bladed weapon, which resulted in bleeding that led to her death.
The area was cordoned off by security forces while forensic experts carried out the corresponding procedures. At the scene, they found bloodstains, black sandals, and, about 100 meters away, the body of [Alex], who was wearing a black blouse and blue jeans. The body had wounds on the right side of the back, as well as on the neck and left armpit. Family members told authorities that the victim was traveling on a scooter, which was not found at the scene.
After the forensic investigation was completed, the body was transferred to Forensic Medical Service facilities in Chilpancingo for autopsy.
