After Laura was murdered her remains were abandoned by her killers.
A trans woman, identified by the organization with the protected name of Laura, was murdered and her remains were found in two locations in the Venus del Río Quevedo parish, in the Quevedo canton of Los Ríos province.
According to a bulletin issued on August 15 by the Runa Sipiy Observatory of Asociación Silueta X, the discovery occurred at around noon on Friday, August 14. The organization indicates that the events likely took place between the night of Thursday, August 13, and the morning of Friday.
The first package was located in the 20 de Febrero cooperative. Hours later, residents of the Gritos de Libertad sector found a sack on a bridge, from which blood was seeing. Upon examining its contents, the presence of human remains was confirmed.
According to testimonies gathered by the Observatory, individuals traveling in a van with their faces reportedly covered abandoned one of the bundles and immediately left the scene. The organization preliminarily maintains that the victim is a transgender woman and is not originally from the area.
Runa Sipiy preliminarily classifies the act as a transfemicide, under a profile related to organized crime or contract killing. Among the elements mentioned are the distribution of the remains in two locations, the use of a pickup truck, the concealment of the faces of the alleged perpetrators, and the decapitation.
