Kellen was strangled and her body thrown into a motel swimming pool. She was also raped and suffered blunt force trauma.
The killer was apprehended by motel staff when he tried to flee.
Kellen Santorine, who was [trans], was found dead on Sunday morning (13) in a motel pool in Uberaba, Minas Gerais. Also found at the scene was a 29-year-old EGC mechanic, who tried to escape by jumping over the wall of the establishment.
According to a report in Jornal da Manhã this Monday (14), the Military Police Operations Center was informed at around 6:50 am that a [trans woman] was dead in the swimming pool of one of the suites. There, they found the customer trying to escape.
The suspect in the crime was apparently stunned and initially told that he was kidnapped by a third person, who killed the [trans woman] and threw her into the water. Afterwards, he changed his account and said that he hired the [trans woman] and used various types of drugs at the motel.
He said he did not notice when the victim "drowned" and that he removed the body from the water, alerting the staff. The mechanic had scratches all over his body and a bite mark on his waist, while the victim had ankle injuries and a bite mark on her buttocks. The suite was in disarray.
Kellen was from Corumbá in Mato Grosso do Sul, and had been in Uberaba for a month.
