Irlana was shot in the street.
A mystery involving the murder of two trans women has created tension among residents of Boca da Mata, in Salvador. The crimes took place within a two-day interval, between Saturday (31) and Monday (2), and show a pattern, with the occurrences in the same region, the same victim profile and the same modus operandi: a shot to the head. Despite the similarity in the cases, the relationship between the two crimes has not yet been confirmed by the Civil Police.
The first death was recorded on Saturday morning at a roundabout on Avenida Assis Valente, known as Pistão. The woman was identified by the social name Irlana. Preliminary information, not yet officially confirmed, indicates that the victim was a resident of Fazenda Grande III, about 2 km from where the body was found. She was shot in the head.
The second body is that of Beatriz Ganzarolli, who had been missing since Sunday (1st). The trans woman was found in a wooded area in the same region, with marks from three gunshot wounds, including one to the head. This indicates that the victim may have been taken to the location before being killed. Beatriz's body was released and buried in Poções, a rural district of Juazeiro.
