Abiel was killed in her apartment.
Abiel Velazco, 58, who worked as a sex worker at a hotel on Calzada de Tlalpan, was found dead inside her apartment in the Infonavit Piloto housing complex, in the Piloto Culhuacán neighborhood of the Coyoacán borough. Her face was covered in blood, and she was gagged.
The discovery occurred after her sister Basti went to the property located in Plaza Tezcatlipoca, after several days without being able to contact her. Upon entering the residence, she found her [sister] unconscious and requested assistance from emergency services.
ERUM paramedics who arrived at the scene only confirmed that Abiel no longer had vital signs, while police officers secured the property to allow the work of forensic experts and agents of the Investigative Police.
The victim's sister stated that Abiel used to offer her services at a hotel located on Calzada de Tlalpan in the Parque San Andrés neighborhood and that the family decided to go looking for her as they had not heard from her since July 15.
The Mexico City Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation, which was classified as "femicide due to other causes".
