Her body was found the next day by municipal police officers alongside the Silao-Guanajuato highway.

Sania was shot dead at a wedding in the Chiniya Nawali area of Hafizabad on Friday 20th July.
She was one of several trans women engaged as dancers at a wedding party. When one of the guests made unwelcome sexual advances and the group objected, he pulled a gun and shot Sania dead.
Transgender persons are often targeted and denied their rights in Pakistan’s deeply patriarchal society. Dancing at weddings and stage performances are the most common professions that the marginalised community’s members take up. In Pakistan, stage performers have little protection. In April this year, pregnant singer Samina Sindhu was shot dead for being unable to dance while singing. Transgender performers face even worse discrimination. Aish Khan, a transgender performer based in Karachi, told SAMAA that men get drunk at most of the functions.
“I used to perform at all-men gatherings but have stopped that because I have been assaulted four times,” she said. “The men consider us their private property and do not respect our choices. Now, I just perform at family functions.”
Performers are ill-treated if they say no. “Men at a DHA event shaved the eyebrows of my friend, Payal, just to humiliate her,” she said. “Our community protested and the police arrested him, only to let him off in a few hours. I saw him again at a function in Baldia and he asked me to meet him alone. When I said no, he told me that he’ll kidnap me on my way.”
Aish said men do not consider them humans. “We are humans and we get tired after continuous performance from 12am to 5am,” she said. “If I want to sit and rest for a while, they get furious.”

Although Christine Dance never met Sasha Garden, she felt compelled to join a small candlelight vigil to honor the woman who was found dead at an Orlando apartment complex Thursday morning.
“She was a woman,” Dance said of Garden. “She was a woman of color. She was a trans woman of color. Out of all the tough identities to have, a trans woman of color is the most dangerous.”
Dance joined about 15 other people at Lake Eola on Saturday evening to honor Garden’s life. The group prayed together. They held up signs adorned with pictures of Garden’s name and face. And they gathered to remember several other transgender women of color who have died this year — Garden’s death being the fourth in Florida, according to the advocacy group Equality Florida.

Daniela was shot in the face and chest by two men on a motorcycle at around 10:30pm on Santana Street in Gurupi.

In March 2024 Edson Vieira - a former military police officer - was sentenced to 16 years in prison for Daniela's murder. Another suspect, Gustavo Teles, was killed by police officers in 2018.
Represented by prosecutors Rafael Pinto Alamy and André Henrique Leite, the MPTO had all the theses accepted by the Sentencing Council, which convicted Edson Vieira of qualified homicide, carried out for a base motive and use of a resource that made the victim's defense difficult.
The crime took place in 2018. According to the complaint, Edson Vieira acted in co-authorship with another former police officer, Gustavo Teles. He was riding a motorcycle and approached the victim, at which point his partner, who was riding pillion, fired the gunshots that killed Cicarelli.
The crime would have been committed as a “file burning”, as the victim was a witness in another police investigation.
The complaint also points out that the duo acted in typical extermination group activity and aimed to eliminate social elements considered “undesirable”. They are accused, in six other criminal actions, of committing homicides and attempted homicides. The crimes occurred between 2017 and 2018.
Gustavo Teles, who was also involved in the crimes, died during an approach involving civil police officers, allegedly after carrying out one of the murders in 2018.
In April 2024 Vieira was sentenced to 16 years in prison for Daniela's murder.

A [trans woman] identified only as “LAY” was shot dead on Monday night (16), in the Parque Verde II neighborhood, in Camaçari.
According to information from a friend of the victim who was at the time of the crime they were going to the "RUA", when two men aboard a motorcycle stopped and asked for Lay's bag. When Lay refused one of the criminals fired a single shot at the chest of the victim. She died before receiving care at the HGC where she had been taken by a police car.
The crime took place on TV Almirante tamandaré near the embasa.

Yamil Careaga Blanco, 22, was arrested at the scene. Her murder is being treated as femicide as Adri carried identity documents congruent with her identity.
The man stabbed the night worker after realizing she was transsexual, said Lily Cortez, leader of the Bolivian Night Workers Organization (OTN-B). The representative regretted that the aggressor had let out his transphobia against the worker, which is why her organization will take legal action as plaintiffs.
"We regret this transphobia. Although she is trans, for us, the sex workers, she is a lady, she is a woman and nobody has the right to take her life. We as an organization will constitute ourselves as a complainant" she said.

Simge Avc? loved practical jokes, says her roommate Bahar, recalling how her friend would giggle after pretending to spill the contents of an empty teapot on her startled victims.
Bahar (not her real name), 25, had lived with Avc? for seven years in Samsun, a small, sleepy city on the Black Sea coast of Turkey.
On 13 July, the roommates went out for a long breakfast with Avc?’s boyfriend, Mecit Sezer, and her mother. They chatted as they ate and later went to a local pool to combat the sweltering heat. “It was a normal day,” says Bahar.
The group parted company at about 7pm. Less than five hours later, Avc? was shot in the stomach and died.

According to police chief Osmar Feijó , from the Civil Police's Homicide and Protection Division (DHPP), the hypothesis is that the victim suffered aggression as a result of negotiations involving drugs.

In November 2019 a man was arrested for her murder.
The Balneário Camboriú DIC arrested 35-year-old ES on charges of murdering the [trans woman] Myrela in July last year. The arrest was on Friday.
The victim was found dead in a vacant lot on Alvin Bauer Avenue, next to a mechanic's shop downtown, on July 4, 2018. The body was under furniture scraps. Myrela was strangled with a purse strap and had neck cuts.
Civil police investigations indicate that E. and Mirela, after drinking and using drugs, had sex. The two would have had a disagreement and E. killed the [trans woman].
Last Thursday, the police arrived at the suspect and during the interrogation he confessed to the crime. Police requested E.'s probation the same day, but were not granted justice until the next day. The suspect is in Canhanduba jail.

Deepa was stabbed to death. Although she had been attacked before, this time it proved fatal.
Deepak Rana, chairperson of the NGO, said this was the third attack on Deepa.
“Last September, she was picked up by some youths and after raping her, they chopped off her hand. She was so traumatised with the incident that she could not even recalled the incident to lodge a police complaint,” said Rana.
The community has also accused a policeman of harassing Deepa to seek sexual favour for him and his friends. “It was only after we raised the issue with senior police officials that the accused police man stopped harassing her”.

Alexa was stabbed and beaten to death inside her home. Her sister found her body several days after she had been killed.
Alexa was a stylist who was in the early stages of transition and was fighting cancer at the same time. She was well known in the area and visited local communities to offer free haircuts to people who could not afford to pay for her services.
Marco Antonio García Robles, president of the VIDHA AC Foundation, demanded that the Prosecutor's Office investigate the killing of Alexa Gutiérrez as feminicide, since she was a transgender person.
"We do not exist and that is unfair. We demand that this be investigated as such, that they begin to take the protocol because it is not fair that they hide us, we must begin to demand, because trans individuals do exist ".
For their part, family members said that in recent times she was fighting for her life, so at the time Alexa decided that her identity change was not urgent, but that this is not a reason for her murder not to be investigated as feminicide.

The friend who organised a crowdfunder to pay for the funeral of trans student Daine Grey, who is believed to have taken his own life, has spoken to PinkNews about the outpouring of the love and support the campaign has received – smashing its $17,000 target in just 40 hours.
“If you look at the picture that I posted (above), I took that picture, that basically sums [him] up. He was proud of who he was,” Lady Katerina tells PinkNews from San Francisco.
“Even though he struggled with depression, even though he struggled with physical disabilities and other health problems, he was just trying to make life better for himself.”
The community leader is talking about the photo of Grey, happily posing with a Pride flag, which she used on the GoFundMe page she set up to fundraise enough money to pay for his funeral. She says that she took the photo because it was his “Supergay Daine Day.”
